A duct crossing a beam, a cable tray with no room in a shaft, telecommunications infrastructure without a defined route, piping that conflicts with the ceiling, or equipment without adequate service clearance may appear to be isolated problems. In practice, they are signs of poor coordination between disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BIM design coordination<\/strong> is intended precisely to anticipate these conflicts before they reach the construction site. This method can work for simple projects but tends to be limited when many disciplines, complex geometries, critical systems, or large volumes of information are involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With BIM, coordination is supported by three-dimensional digital models and structured information-management processes. This enables teams to detect geometric clashes, track revisions, register issues, assign responsibilities, control versions, and document decisions with greater traceability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, an important distinction is necessary: BIM is not merely a 3D model. Each discipline develops its model according to previously defined requirements.
